Easter Pictures

9 Months

Well the 9 month milestone came just about as quickly as all of the others!! Aubrey is doing great and is such a doll. My sister who is visiting, just commented this morning that she seems happy all of the time. Well, although that is correct, she definitely has a temper and will let you know when she is not happy! Hmmm...wonder where she gets that from! Guilty.

Anyway, at 9 months, Aubrey, you .....

- weigh 18 lbs and 4 oz....wow....I had no idea!!!

- are in the 50th percentile for height and weight

- wear size 3 diapers

- wear size 9 month or 6-12 month clothes

- still take your pretty bows out of your wild hair

- are crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything

- starting to cruise around on the couch

- FINALLY have 1 tooth, with 1 more closely following

- say "mama", "dada" and lots of other gibberish....I don't know yet if the "mama" and "dada" has any meaning to it, probably not!!

- have not been sleeping as well as usual (thanks to our teeth), but will hopefully start having better nights soon

- are loving snacks and starting to get the whole sippy cup thing

- still love your brother more than anything....you laugh and laugh when he is around

- and love his toys WAY more than your own....not good news for him!

- are getting ready to take your 4th round trip flight from Hawaii to the mainland...you must be one of the most traveled 9 month olds with one of the craziest mamas

- are starting to wear shoes...they are so cute, but you usually like to just kick them off

- go to the church nursery every week and have been doing better and better

That's about all! I may think of more and will add later. It's getting more and more difficult to take her picture so I included some of the "fun" ones from our photo session. And big brother just HAD to join in too!

Spring Pictures

This post will pretty much only include pictures. I don't have time to write much right now, but will include brief explanations...some may require it! Hope you all are well!

These are some new pajamas and I just thought they were adorable...needed a picture!

We finally got our first tooth....after some sleepless nights!

On Saturday I took the kids to the spring carnival here on base. Edmond did this with us last year and it sure wasn't the same without him. I tried to keep Aubrey in the stroller the whole time, but as you'll see in a pic later, she had nothing to do with that!! I LOVE this picture because it pretty much says it all...she was about to lose it and he was a little more scared than he thought he'd be!!

I think Riley's favorite part was the swing ride. I think this is his first real 'ride'. He loved it!!!

Yep....it was pleasant!!

And petting the rabbits was up there on the list of favorites too!

We have a new pet at our home...this lizard who has taken up residence on our patio. I am totally grossed out by it (it's not a normal green, kind of brown and bumpy looking), but of course Riley loves it. He asked me his name and since I didn't have one, he wanted us to give him one. My first suggestion was 'Lucy' and Riley said, 'no'...then I said, "what about Linus?" and Riley like it. So...Linus the lizard is our new friend!! Yuck!!!

Edmond's been asking for a picture of all of us so this is just about as good as it's gonna get with a 2 year old and 8 month old. Fun times!

And last but certainly not least, we just finished up a good visit with Edmond's mom. I am so very thankful that she took the time to come out here and spend her spring break with us. It was absolutely wonderful. She wanted to teach Riley how to play baseball while she was here and it was quite an interesting endeavor! His attention span isn't quite long enough for organized sports at this point, but he did do better with one-on-one assistance!!!

What We've Been Doing

Here are a few pics of the kids. Aubrey is growing up so fast and is not only crawling, but pulling up on everything now. She's not super steady so I feel like I need to stay right by her. Riley is talking about a storm. I want to share some funny things he has said.

1) He is obsessed with dinosaurs right now and has been asking to take them in the bath with him. Well, we tried this a few times and they would soak up water in the holes they had. So, I told him that if the dino had a hole, he couldn't go in the bath. Every night we now look at each dino to see if he can "bathe" with Riley. Well, the other day while I was getting dressed, he wanted to give his dinos a bath so I put just a little water in our tub. I overheard a conversation Riley had with 2 of his dinos.....it went something like this. Dino #1 "Hi Dino". Dino #2 "Hi. I can't take a bath because I have a hole." Dino #1 "oh no!" I as just about to die laughing. So funny!!!

2) When he wants something to eat he now taps his chin/cheek in a thinking while in a thinking position and says, "Hmmm....What can I eat Mommy?"

3) And when I say something that he likes or agrees with, he says in a super loud voice "What a great idea, Mommy!"

He is something else...keeps me smiling, that's for sure!

We have had a rough few days around here with the helicopter crash. Of course Edmond is in Afghanistan (and doing fine), but we are just heartbroken over this incident and for the families involved. Please say a prayer if you will!

So Much Fun!

So the kids have been having some fun lately. Here is Aubrey's newest trick in the bathtub...she's a little monkey and tries to climb all over the place. My hand was right there in case the tub flipped over....just so you don't think I'm too horrible for snapping this picture first!

And how can you resist this precious little face!

Here is Aubrey with her little friend Evelyn! Evelyn is a few months younger than Aubrey, but they live just 2 doors down so they have become BFF! Isn't Evelyn's skin just gorgeous! PS...we didn't buy the outfits together, but realized we had the same onesies and just HAD to have a picture. We may have to continue this though because it was too cute!

Oh boy...and here is the stud himself!! We don't often hang out with just a diaper outside, but the story is that we were playing with bubbles....they spilt all over him.....and he doesn't like to be wet! So we just stripped down and he had the best time!

Does he look guilty or what?!!!

And now he is "looking for bees" as he told me!

And here is my latest purchase...I LOVE them! I ordered these canvases from mpix.com and they are my most favorite thing in the house right now. I waited until they had a special so I got a pretty good deal. The best part is that with mpix, the shipping on anything you order is only $5.99. Even all the way out here to Hawaii! On any other website, I was almost paying more in shipping than for the actual canvas. So....I was pumped! I hope Ed likes them when he gets home! We sure do miss him....is it too soon to count the days??!!

This and That

So...Edmond told me the other day that he often gets to check the blog. So from here on out, I may have more picture on here than you care to see, but it's mostly for him! Here is our past few weeks in pictures!

St. Patty's day! This was the best picture I could get of the 2 of them! They are both a little difficult these days when it comes to taking pictures.

I just love this little boy so much!! He is such a sweetie...he called out for me in the middle of the night the other night saying, "I love you mommy! I love you mommy!" It was just precious...although I was exhausted and didn't enjoy the moment as much as I would have liked!

And this little girl....more precious than words! I can't tell you how many times people comment on her eyes and all I can say is, "They're not from me...I can't take any credit at all!"

This was one rare morning when they were sitting next to each other so quietly! I had to snap a picture. Don't you LOVE the bedhead. It's quite crazy I must say!

And this was their first bath together. I've only done it twice and I think I will hold off on doing it more regularly. I think when Edmond gets home...he can start to bathe them at the same time! That's my plan at least!

PPS....I used to think Riley looked just like Edmond, but oh my...Aubrey has now taken the prize for that one!! Honestly...I don't think either one looks much like me!! At least my hubby is a cutie!!!
